Barbara "Jeanne" Toulou entered the house of her Lord April 5, 2007 at her Inchelium home at the age of 71. Born on August 23, 1935 in Inchelium, WA, Jeanne was the youngest child of Alec Narcisse and Julia (Little Aleck) Gendron. She was a member of the Colville Confederated Tribes, Arrow Lakes Band. Jeanne graduated from Inchelium High School in 1953. On January 27, 1953 she married the love of her life, Alvin Gus Toulou. Four daughters were born to Alvin and Jeanne and they completed their family when they adopted their fifth daughter, They lived and Jeanne worked in many various jobs in Colville, Inchelium and Spokane. In 1981, Alvin and Jeanne returned to live in Inchelium. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Inchelium and together with Alvin strengthened their faith through the Crusillo Movement and Kateri NW Conference. She was a member of the Spokane Diocese Deaconate, and a board member of the Inchelium Community Health Board. Jeanne was a prominent and respect elder of the Inchelium Community. Known to friends, family and neighbors as Grammie, Ya-Ya and auntie, she had a love for music and singing and loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. Jeannie is survived by husband of 54 plus year, Alvin Toulou, Inchelium, WA; five daughters: Jeanne Marie Pachosa and husband Jack, Grand Coulee; Melanie Ann Van der Veen and husband, Rouke, Portland, OR; Sandra Lane Breidenbach, and husband, Dann, Lynwood, WA; Alvina "Chickie" Joan Warren and husband, Patrick, Dina Nomee and husband, Milton, Usk, WA; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by all her brothers and sisters, her eldest grandson, and three great-grandchildren. Rosary services will be held at 7pm Monday, April 9, 2007 at the Inchelium Community Center, Inchelium, WA. Funeral mass will be held at 10 am Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at the Inchelium Community Center. Graveside services will follow at the Hall Creek Cemetery.
