1941: Moving the high school gymnasium

Cut in sections and loaded on dollies, the Inchelium High School Gymnasium was the last building to be removed in the old town. It is shown on the road leading out of the old town and up to the new townsite above the high-water mark of backwater of the Columbia river now rising behind Grand Coulee Dam. Clearing for the lake is shown as completed in this scene. Water will cover the area up to the timber line in the back. The old Gifford-Inchelium ferry, to be replaced by a modern ferry boat this summer, is shown crossing the river.
