Dec. 1, 2006: Jude C. Stensgar obituary

 STENSGAR, Jude Clarence, Sr. passed away at his Inchelium home on November 28, 2006 at the age of 76. Jude was born and raised in Inchelium, WA. He was the son of Fredrick L. and Mary (Meusy) Stensgar. Jude graduated from Inchelium High School. He joined the US Air Force in 1951 and served his country for 20 years, retiring in 1971. He returned to Inchelium and from 1974 to 1986 he served as Colville Confederated Tribes councilman and 1987-1990 he served as Chairman of the Tribe. Jude enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses and watching wildlife. Jude is survived by five sons: Carl L. Seymour and wife, Debbie, Elmer City; Clarence J. Stensgar, Inchelium; Michael A. Stensgar, Inchelium; Raymond L. Oakley, Spokane; Anthony L. Stensgar, Inchelium; four brothers, Bud, Dave and George, all of Inchelium and Jim of Coulee Dam, WA; 17 grandchildren, Mitzi, Tim, Bud, Michael, Shelly, James, Lori, Kenneth, Crystal, Jamie, Michael, Brandon, Rayna, Matthew, Steffie Jo, Tryone and David; also 12 great-grandchildren. Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006 at 7 p.m. at the Inchelium Community Center there will be a wake held for Mr. Stensgar. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Dec. 4, 2006 at 10 a.. at the Inchelium Community Center. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Hall Creek Cemetery.
