Two brothers hooked fish simultaneously while trolling on Covada lake on the Colville Indian Reservation yesterday, 10 miles south of Inchelium. They stood up in the boat to land their fish, but only one of the men lived to tell the tale. The boat capsized, hurling the two anglers and their father into the lake.
Glen M. Seyler, 28, of Inchelium, a logger in the area, paid with his life for the fishing thrill. He was struck in the face by the whirling blades of the outboard motor propeller as he was thrown into the water.
His brother, Charles Seyler, and father, Charles Seyler Sr., also of Inchelium, saw the injured man struggle briefly in the water before sinking.
They clung to the upturned boat for a time and were later able to swim to shore. Glen's body was recovered by rescuers who were summoned by the survivors of the accident.
Glen is survived by his parents and his widow, Wilda, at Inchelium; four brothers, Reginald and Charles Seyler of Inchelium, Alvin in Oregon and Cecil in the armed forces.
