Gifford teams cross to Inchelium with merchandise
GIFFORD, Jan. 9 - Zero weather, which has been holding the upper Columbia in its grip for the last 10 days, culminated last night in the coldest of the season, thermometers registering 22 below in the more exposed localities.
The Columbia River is froze over between this place and Inchelium, opposite here, on the Ferry count side, and today freight teams are crossing on the ice with goods for merchants in Inchelium, Covada and Meteor. The ferryboat is out of commission and has been for 10 days on account of ice.
