June 29, 1918: Ferry torn from cables

Mr. Bryant and L.G. Hobbs were unable to reach Inchelium Tuesday, due to the ferry being out at Gifford. The river is the highest it has been this year. The ferry was torn from the cables, taking the ferrymen, Dolph Adams and son, down stream, but they were towed in before reaching the falls. Repairs will have been made by today and transportation resumed.
