DAVENPORT - A 50-foot pier on the new Spokane River bridge 50 miles northwest of here claimed its second life yesterday. Al Diede, about 30, was fatally injured in the plunge from the top of the structure.
James Perkins, of Inchelium, was killed in a fall from the same pier March 27.
