Dec. 30, 1933: Brain shot, lives 18 hours

 
 
-Indian youth is victim of hunting accident near Inchelium

COLVILLE - George LaFLeur, 20, Indian, Inchelium, accidentally shot himself yesterday with a 25-35 caliber rifle while hunting 10 miles from Inchelium. The bullet entered his brain but he lived 18 hours after the accident.

About 10 a.m. a shot was heard in the vicinity where his body was found at 4 p.m. by Herman Bourgeau, a friend. The boy was taken to Inchelium and from there was brought to Mount Carmel hospital here, where he lived until 4 a.m. today.
