The number of recruits who have signed to play football at WSU icnreased to 17 with the arrival Friday of three more letters of intent.
Ama Afaila, a 6-foot-1, 250-pound defensive lineman from Inchelium, Wash. became the 13th high school player to sign. He was a Seattle Times White Chip pick after leading Inchelium to an 11-0 record and a state title this season.
He also competed at running back for the B-8 school, finishing the year with 1,761 yards.

The signings of Aifala, Shorter and Hicks bring the Cougars' total number of 1992 recruits to 22.
