Eti moved to Inchelium in the summer of 1991, when his father Pat Ena landed the job as principal. He formerly played football for Orem High School in Utah. The Hornet football team was coming off of a one-win season. Eti was one of the main components that helped Inchelium capture its second-ever state B-8 championship in 1991. Prior to EWU, he played football at Snow College in Ephraim Utah and Walla Walla Community College.
