1949: Inchelium football

Pictured:
1st row: Kenneth Zaugg, Pierre Louie, Iven Brown, Francis White, Delbert Duffner, Charles Clark, Levi Hoffman
2nd row: George Quill, Cecil Sandvig, Donald Moomaw, James Phillips, Emory Camp, Louis Boyd, Mathew Boyd, Mr. Walsh.

The Inchelium Hornets started their football schedule with a booming victory over Springdale. Long passes and end runs were the Hornets'' offense while they played a tight 6-2-2-1 defense. The final summary of the games is as follows:

Inchelium 25, Springdale 6
Northport 27, Inchelium 0
Northport 66, Inchelium 0
Valley 27, Inchelium 0
Hunters 14, Inchelium 0
Kettle Falls 83, Inchelium 0

The team was greatly hindered by lack of many substitutes and absence of two of our main players. We hope this doesn't happen next year. The coach this year was Mr. James P. Walsh. We believe he did a very good job even under the conditions of such a few players.

The lineups was as follows:
George (Mitt) Quill, right end
Mathew Boyd, right end
Wallace Bourgeau, right tackle
Chuck Clark, right guard
Kenneth Zaugg, center
Donald Moomaw, left guard
Iven Brown, left tackle
Francis White, left end
Louis Boyd, quarterback
David Stensgar, left half
James Phillips, right half
Emory Camp full back
Subs: Pierre Louie, Delbert Duffner, Robert Fry, Cecil Sandvig
