Sophomore class history:

When the school doors opened August 30 there were eight students in the Sophomore Class. Some of the Sophomores were a few days late, but we all finally got here, bringing the total up to fourteen. They were as follows: Elsie Toulou, Shirley Duffner, Marlene Wilson, Phyllis Rima, Emory Camp, Donna Moomaw, Merle Hamilton, Charles Clark, Eva Jane DeSmeth, Maxine Nugent, George Simpson and Lea Simpson.

We had our choice of subjects this year which seemed rather strange to us at first.

President: Elsie Toulou
President: Shirley Duffner
Sec-Treas: Donna Moomaw
Reporter: Lea Simpson
Advisor: Mr. Walsh
Class Flower: Yellow Rose
Class Color: Crimson and Gray
Class Motto: "Make the best better"

We gave a bingo and pinochle party on March 30 and made $63.40 for our class. With this amount and the share we will receive from the high school play we hope to have enough money on hand next fall to make a down on our rings.

Stanley Baulne was in the Nespelem Hospital ten days with pneumonia. We missed his happy, smiling face while he was gone. George Simpson left us second semester following his marriage.

We all hope to be back at Inchelium for the next two years and are looking forward to as happy a year as this has been.

We have attempted to live up to our motto. All of our members have participated in one or more activities of the school. With the exception of a few we haven't made too bad grades, but we know we can improve. The majority of us were on the paper and annual staff. Elsie, Shirley, Marlene, Eva Jane and Lea took part in basketball.
