May 31, 1997: Clarence Hoffman obituary

Graveside services for Clarence Levi Hoffman, 63, will be at 10 a.m. today at the Hall Creek Cemetery in Inchelium. Danekas Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hoffman, who was born in Inchelium, died Tuesday.

He attended schools in Inchelium through the 10th grade and worked on the family farm.

In 1956, he married Donna Smith in Coeur d'Alene and they made their home near Inchelium.

He worked for Boise Cascade Corp, in its logging operations for 10 years and later worked on the Ferry County Road Department for eight years. He had also been a self-employed rancher and logger.

Mr. Hoffman was a member of the Ferry County Cattlemen's Association, the Lakeside Grange and the Tribal Truckers Association.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; a daughter, Helen Hoffman of Inchelium; seven sons, Donald Hoffman of Republic, Charlie, Monty, Mark, Fred, Gary and Bill, all of Inchelium; six sisters, Nellie Fry and Marie Banning, both of Inchelium, Jean Whipple of Spokane, Donna McClung, Margaret Hamley and Dorrie Hoffman, all of Colville; and 23 grandchildren.
