Feb. 25, 1971: Reardan defeats Inchelium in Northeast Basketball Tournament

Five-time straight champion Reardan won the opening round game versus Inchelium Wednesday at Spokane Falls College.

Reardan, Bi-County League champion, demolished No. 3 Panorama Inchelium 76-47.

Reardan went to the bench early and often and still had little trouble whipping Inchelium in the night opener.

The Indians jumped to a 20-9 first period lead and blanked the Hornets while picking up 20 more in the second quarter.

Inchelium, in fact, went 11;19 from late in the first quarter into the third without scoring.

Eugene Krupke led Reardan with 19 points as five of the Indians scored in double figures. Preston Boyd, who scored eight last-period points and 14 in the second half, topped Inchelium with 18.

Dennis Laramie scored 4, Gene Grose had 6, Fran Swan scored 11, Robert Stensgar scored 3, Tim Bailey 2, Dennis Overbay 2 and Bob Louie 1 to round out Inchelium's scoring.
