The Red Cross ladies at Inchelium cleared 200 at the Indian celebration in the week of the fourth. Mrs. C.W. Lawson is chairman, and Mrs. Ed Moore is treasurer.
To the Colville baseball nine: We all send our sincere sympathy on seeing you defeated in playing ball at Inchelium the 6th, but someone should have told you what you were "running up against." Don't you wish you had Frank Setzer to pitch for you?

Mr. and Mrs. Denny and family were visitors at the Patriotic club on unday and heard C.J. McKellar speak.
The "Patriotic Workers" were favored with a visit from Chat McKellar at their Sunday meeting, July 14. He gave a fine address and the miners greatly appreciated his account of "digging in."
The beautiful hand-made rug that was on exhibition at the Red Cross pavilion at the Inchelium celebration is now the property of Bert Parmeter.
Mrs. Chalenor's paintings are becoming widely admired. Since the first of the year she has presented nine of her paintings to the Red Cross.
Mrs. Sparling and children of Meteor were visiting friends here first of the week.
Word has been received here that Roy Elliott, who went to Spokane some time ago for treatment, had succumbed to his malady. He leaves a wife and two small children. The funeral services were held at Hunters July 11 and Mr. Howe and family attended the funeral. Mrs. Elliott, who has been spending some time with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. How, expects to return to her home in Chewelah in short time. Her sister Elizabeth Howe may accompany her.
