1970s: Inchelium Wild Horse Rodeo Set July 4-5


INCHELIUM - An improved mountain race course, new arena fencing and fencing around the grounds will add viewing pleasure to the always exciting Inchelium Wild Horse Rodeo July 4-5.
Events start at 2p.m. both days and reigning over activities will be Donna Carter, rodeo queen, and Teresa Shaffer, princess.
Entry books are still open and cowboys wanting to compete can contact Mrs. Louise Carter, rodeo secretary, by telephoning PA 2-3284 from 6 to 10 p.m.
Events include calf roping, wild cow milking, bull riding, bareback riding, bronc riding, bull dogging, junior and WBRA barrel racing and the mountain race. Entry fee is $20 for all events and winner of each event will receive trophy buckles in addition to prize money. All around cowboy will also receive a trophy buckle
DANNY GREEN STOCK
Stock will be furnished by Danny Green, who is famous for his top quality rodeo bulls and broncos. A carnival will be on the rodeo grounds both days and a camping area will be provided by the Inchelium Recreation Association who sponsor the annual rodeo.
Dances are planned at the recreation hall Wednesday and Thursday nights, July 3 and 4, and a $1 cowboy breakfast will be available on July 5 from 8:30 to 11 a.m.
"Cowboys must have their entry fee in by noon, July 3, when the books close," Mrs. Carter reminded possible participants. She said rodeo admission will be $1.25 for adults and 50 cents for children.
