July 11, 1929: Couple are married twice when girl's age is given wrong

WENATCHEE - Misrepresentation of a bride-to-be's age yesterday resulted in two licenses and two marriages.

Eddie Gorr of Omak and Pearl Anna McClung of Inchelium applied for a marriage and gave the girl's age as 18 years old. An Indian department officer checked up on her years with the result that today the couple again appeared for license, accompanied by the bride's father. They were married a second time.

The second license gave the girl's age as 16.
