REPUBLIC - Mrs. Mary Lloyd, an Indian woman from Spokane, is here working among the Indians to arouse interest and collect an exhibit of Indian handiwork and products of the Indian farms for the Interstate Fair at Spokane, Sept. 3 to 8. Indian Farmer Hauser and Mrs. Millie Tonasket, widow of the late Chief Batties Tonasket, who is engaged in stock raising and owns one of the best hay ranches in the county, are assisting her in making the collection.

Mrs. Lloyd spent several days at Inchelium and other Indian settlements on the south half, and has been successful in procuring a collection of Indian handiwork, and is promised a collection of farm products which will insure a fine exhibit from the reservation.

Mrs. Lloyd was assisted at Inchelium by Mrs. H.G. Hawkins, who accompanied her from Spokane, to Inchelium, and by W.A. Monten, a Spokane attorney who addressed an assemblage of prospective exhibitors on the necessity and advantages of having a fine exhibit at the fair.
