Aug. 30, 1919: Marvel Milling Co. buying wheat

The Marvel Milling Co. at Inchelium, which was organized in April to operate a flour mill at Inchelium, is now buying wheat at 10 and 15 cents under the market price, and expects to start the mill next week. F. Cametta of the Sperry Milling Co. is now at Inchelium installing the mill machinery and will be in charge of the milling operations. The capacity is 25 barrels a day and the plant is of the new type which makes the nationally-advertised "Flavo" flour. Those who are financially interested in the mill are Mrs. A.J. Inman, Theo. Bourgeau, and Roy S. Inman. The latter is the manager, and last week gave Rome Spafford a check for $1,765 for wheat grown on the Spafford place which heretofore has not raised enough produce to pay taxes. Mr. Inman believes that both sides of the river near Inchelium can profitably raise wheat. Heretofore there has been no cash market for the lower river wheat closer than Colville. The mill will make one grade of the best flour, roll feed for the ranchers, and clean seed wheat.
