NESPELEM - Word has been received at the Colville Indian agency that Gregory Paul, 72-year-old Indian residing near Inchelium, committed suicide Wednesday night by shooting himself with a .38 caliber revolver. It has been reported that his wife and he had some words of misunderstanding in the room where the former lay ill and without any warning, he picked up the gun and turned it upon himself.
It is most unusual for Indians to commit suicide and especially so among the older members of the tribe.
