April 24, 1920: Covada Prospects

Mike O'Connell and Mr. Hammond are in camping looking after their mining property.

Marion Sizemore has made improvements on the R.E. Lee mining property and is now doing some development work.

Ed Moore of Inchelium is hauling ore for the Longstreet mining company.

Mr. Messenger, who recently arrived from Marysville to visit his son Frank, has been assisting in the rebuilding of the Orion camp house.

Mrs. Proctor has been elected to the school board and at a recent business meeting was chosen clerk of the board.

Feb. 7, 1914: Covada Items


While the annual assessment work was being done on the Orion property fine ore was encountered in the tunnel at the 1,450 feet and depth of about 500 feet.

The Gwin Mining Company has been delayed with its mill work on account of the poor roads, which have prevented getting the machinery down from the railroad.

Jake Koontz is in charge of the stock of good at Inchelium which Mr. Coleman of Meteor recently purchased.

We hear that Mr. Bartlett is going to resume his mercantile business at Inchelium.

Fred Sizemore met with an accident while mining at Republic and is at home almost laid up with a lame foot.

Miss Clark of Addy is visiting relatives in Covada.

George Eves has been on the sick list.

Mr. Carr moves this week to a ranch near Meteor which he has leased. Mr. Carr and his family will be greatly missed in the little Covada camp circle.

Frank Hightower is moving to his ranch near the river.

Mr. O'Connel and Mr. Matthews are in camp having work done on their properties.

Mr. Stiles of Turk, Wash., has some men at work on the "Good Ore" group.

S. Seaman has been opening up the ledge on his "Summit" claims and has found very good looking ore.
